1. What We Collect

When you use LiftBeat without an account, all data (profile, workout history, templates) is stored locally on your device only.

When you create an account, we also store:

  • Your email address and encrypted password
  • Your fitness profile (goal, training preferences, equipment)
  • Your workout history and saved templates
  • Voice transcripts submitted during a session (processed in real time, not retained)
  • App usage settings

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the LiftBeat service:

  • Generating personalised workout recommendations and AI coaching responses
  • Syncing your data across your devices (account holders only)
  • Improving app reliability and performance

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your fitness data for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

LiftBeat uses the following third-party services to power features:

  • Google Gemini — AI coaching and exercise discovery. Voice transcripts and workout context are sent to Google's API and governed by Google's data processing terms.
  • OpenAI Whisper — Speech-to-text transcription for voice logging. Audio is transmitted to OpenAI and processed per their privacy policy.
  • Sentry — Crash and error reporting. Anonymised device and error data is collected to help us fix bugs.

LiftBeat does not perform cross-app tracking. NSPrivacyTracking is set to false.

4. Data Storage and Security

Local data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on your device. Auth tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain.

Account data is stored on secured cloud servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plaintext.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Use the Settings screen in the app or contact us at the address below.

7. Children

LiftBeat is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
